This is the 14th Annual Shake and Bake 5K. It was started as a fundraising opportunity for various soccer ministries on behalf of the Alabama Women's Soccer Foundation
What is involved in the Shake and Bake event?
The Shake and Bake is a family-friendly 5K in and through the community of Mt. Laurel.
Is it benefitting a specific organization again this year? Which one?
This is the second year that the Shake and Bake 5K will be benefitting Vapor Ministries.
Why was that organization selected?
Vapor Ministries exists to glorify Christ by advancing the gospel and serving the poor.
One of the key ways they do this is through their discipleship-making, soccer leagues at their centers in Haiti and Africa.
Is the race course similar to past years?
Exactly the same course. It winds through the beautiful-shaded Mt. Laurel.
What are this year's goals?
Last year, the event raised over $13,000 for Vapor Ministries. Our goal would be to exceed $15,000 for this year's event.
How is this a community and family-friendly event?
Steel City Pops for everyone after the race. There is a local farmer's market nearby. Great community shops nearby.
What can runners look forward to?
This is a USATF certified course that welcomes runners of all ages and ranges of experience.
Cash prizes given to the top two male and female finishers. Awards given to the top two finishers in each age group.
